HOW I WORK

My style is warm and approachable. I bring curiosity and compassion to each session, and create a non-judgmental space for our work. I draw upon a range of therapeutic theories and styles, tailored to fit what you're working through.

My therapeutic method is insight-oriented and psychodynamic, integrating somatic and mindfulness practices, EMDR, education and resource-sharing, interventions specific to sexual health and functioning concerns, and other therapeutic tools as clinically appropriate.

Psychodynamic therapy is based on psychoanalytic theory and principles. It focuses on gaining insight and more conscious access to what is unconscious: conflicts, emotional issues, and underlying beliefs rooted in past experiences or foundational relationships.

I integrate mindfulness and somatic practices into our work. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment without judgment. Somatic therapy treats the body, not only the mind, as central to healing. I'll help you pay attention to the emotions and physical sensations that arise during our sessions, stay curious with you about what these tension patterns can teach us, build your tolerance for sitting with them, and draw on body-based skills for settling and grounding. I'm also trained in EMDR, which can be used to help reprocess traumatic experiences.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When we first meet, we will discuss what's bringing you to therapy, what you can expect from treatment, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

We'll move at the speed of trust to explore your strengths, struggles, experiences, and patterns. I'll take time to get to know you, build our relationship, and gather information.

From there, therapy might be short-term with clear goals and an endpoint in mind. Or, it might unfold over years with no set timeline.

How often we meet will depend on your needs and my recommendations, anywhere from multiple times per week to less than weekly. Together, we will collaboratively build your therapy around your goals and expectations.

FEES

My fee for a 60-minute individual therapy appointment is $185.
My fee for a 75-minute couples therapy session is $225.
I accept payments via Ivy Pay.

I don't accept health insurance plans as payment for services. Insurance companies can request information to determine whether your care remains "medically necessary," which can limit the length, type, or pace of treatment. Not using insurance protects your privacy, preserves confidentiality, and ensures that decisions about your therapy are made between the two of us, not dictated by a third party.

I recognize this is a meaningful financial consideration, and I'm glad to discuss it with you directly during our consultation phone call.
