SEX THERAPY
Many people experience issues related to sex and sexuality. But they feel too embarrassed to ask questions or discuss them with partners, friends, or doctors, and struggle alone for years.
Sex therapy is a talk-based approach that helps you understand the roots of sexual concerns and reconnect with your sexual self, including after experiences of trauma or sexual violence.
I have specific training in helping people work through concerns relating to their sexuality and sexual health. Sometimes my clients’ concerns are addressed through short-term, education-based and solutions-focused sessions. Most often, people who work with me benefit from a depth-oriented approach, using insight and the therapy relationship itself to work through barriers and build a comprehensive understanding of what sex and sexuality means to you. My approach is sex-positive, queer- and trans-affirming, and welcoming of erotically-marginalized and non-monogamous clients.
Let’s talk, so you can let go of the shame, fear, or guilt that is in the way of having a fulfilling sexual life.
Having a “mismatched” level of interest in sex with your partner
Feeling guilt or shame associated with sexual interests or behaviors
Experiencing a change in your body due to illness or aging that is affecting your sexual functioning or satisfaction
Exploring sexual orientation or identity
Engaging in sexual behaviors that you don’t want to, but have a hard time stopping or changing them
